About this event

The Feast of San Gennaro, one of New York City's most beloved and iconic street festivals, returns to Little Italy for its 98th year! From September 12 to September 22, 2024, the streets of Mulberry, Hester, and Grand will be transformed into a vibrant celebration of Italian culture, food, and traditions. This 11-day festival honors the patron saint of Naples, San Gennaro, with religious processions, live music, parades, and, of course, an abundance of delicious Italian cuisine.

What to Expect:

  • Grand Procession: Experience the traditional religious procession on September 19th, featuring the statue of San Gennaro being carried through the streets of Little Italy, accompanied by music and prayers.
  • Food Galore: Indulge in classic Italian dishes and street food, from cannoli and zeppole to sausage and peppers. Food vendors line the streets offering a taste of Italy right in the heart of Manhattan.
  • Entertainment + Special Events: Enjoy live music performances, parades, and family-friendly activities throughout the festival. Participate in special events like the cannoli-eating contest, where contestants compete to see who can eat the most in a set amount of time.
The Feast of San Gennaro is a must-visit for anyone who loves Italian culture, food, and community. It's a family-friendly event that offers a fun and festive atmosphere, perfect for both locals and visitors looking to experience one of NYC's most famous street festivals!
